Merry Christmas Eve everyone (and happy holidays to anyone that doesn’t celebrate Christmas)!
I hope you have a beautiful time with friends and family, indulge a little and laugh a lot.
I wrote an article on looking after yourself this Christmas over at Onya Magazine if you have a spare moment to take a look!
Getting in the Christmas spirit. I have surprised myself with how “Christmassy” I’m feeling this year, particularly as I am spending Christmas away from home and my family. I have made little reindeer tarts, mulled wine and gift wrapped the bejeezus out of our presents. Next year I am definitely going to get my act together and send personal cards (I say this every year, but mark my words it’ll be 2012)!
Being spoilt with presents and birthday wishes. Thank you for all your lovely birthday wishes via Facebook/Twitter/email – it was amazing to receive such special wishes from you all. I was especially lucky to receive a beautiful package, with an even more beautiful letter from Rach (In Spaces Between) wishing me a Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday which you can see top left. Thank you hun!
On my actual birthday, T organised a cryptic treasure hunt for me to find his gifts, which automatically put a smile on my face. The rest of the day was spent just being me and having time to myself until we went out for dinner at our favourite Japanese restaurant.
Booking holiday accommodation. 2012 is certainly my year for travel. I have New Zealand, the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Northern Europe all on the to visit list, with NYC (for a girlfriend’s 30th adventure) being a possibility depending on funds. I love booking everything to do with travel, despite it taking so long to trawl through Trip Advisor reviews.
Tell me, are you taking any trips this year? I’d love to know!
Drinking tea (and mulled wine) out of beautiful new heart-shaped tea cups. I have been a little naughty this year and bought myself a couple of birthday presents. One being a delightful set of heart-shaped teacups that I am sure I spied on a blog months ago. They make the whole tea-drinking ritual seem so much cuter!
Other: shiny new toys (a new iMac for the studio), churros with chocolate dipping sauce, champagne catch ups with good friends, walks along the beach, air conditioned rooms, Mad Men marathons, candy canes, heartfelt cards, Rekorderlig cider, baking experiments and tinsel!
