The Week With All The Congruent Self Discovery
January 23, 2012 in 52 Delights Project
Happy Monday everyone! It is a gorgeous day here in Melbourne, with bright sun and a lot of smiles on the streets. People’s moods are generally much more linked to the weather than they’d like to admit, but in today’s case – that’s pretty awesome.
Anyway, onto the 52 Delights Project -
THE WEEK THAT WAS
I can say that I went better than I thought I would during my week of meditation. I am definitely not controlled enough to do it in pure silence, but I do have a much stronger focus on words, sounds, breathing and manifestations now than I did before. I am going to attempt to keep doing it regularly as it has certainly helped calm my brain before bed and feels like a nice way to ease into the day in the morning.
There are a huge number of free podcasts and apps available, but I have to say that Gabrielle Bernstein and Lita Stone were the two I used the most. I had some great suggestions over on the Facebook page regarding classes that might help me develop further so I’ll check a few of those out in the coming weeks.
THIS WEEK
My (brilliant) girlfriend Hannah sent me a link to this incredible article which absolutely blew my mind this morning. I had been throwing a few ideas around about what the next week of the 52 Delights Project would be and then she thew this my way.
The Beginner’s Guide to Being Congruent by Scott Dinsmore of Live Your Legend. Read it now. No, like right now – I can wait, it’s cool. GO!
…
Mind blown, chickadee? Yeah, mine too. Hannah actually said that I was the most congruent person she knew and I was immensely flattered. I do feel that I am getting better at living a life in line with my values and strengths, but I think it could be really valuable if I stepped through it this week: really focusing on strengths, writing a mission statement, taking a look at what I can do to live closer aligned to my values and opening myself to more opportunities.
I’d love it if you’d like to come on this journey with me too, each day having an in-depth look at what being congruent might mean to you and how we can go about pursuing it together. I’ll be posting little discoveries and questions over on Facebook and Twitter too. Keep an eye out tomorrow for looking at what inspires you and how to keep life fresh.

Aww, shucks :)
I truly believe that you are the closest to congruent of anyone I’ve ever met. You always make a conscious effort to live your life as true to yourself and your values. And not just with your work – it comes through in your lifestyle, in your relationships and your plans for the future. It’s very inspiring to everyone around you, trust me!
Can’t wait to hear about your mission statement – it’s something I’d love to work on this week as well.
And if you think you can bring even more congruency into your life… geez, you’ll be a powerful force! Mwah x
So. Touched.
Thank you. xx
PS: Can’t wait to hear your mission statement. Let’s show 2012 how it’s meant to be lived!
I’ve been thinking about a part of this quite a bit, lately — just not with the term “congruent”. I’ve been thinking about what my goals and aspirations are, and asking myself before making (major) decisions, “Is this going to help me reach my goal?” It’s helped me to prevent from spending money frivolously and not waste time on freelance projects that don’t fit me quite right. NOT to say that I don’t constantly make silly decisions, lol! But this was a great link, I’ve bookmarked it, and I’m sure I’ll be referring to it often :) Can’t wait to see what else you make of it!
I am in the same boat in terms of freelance projects Tiera, so I know how you feel. I think congruent is slightly broader than ‘does it help me reach my goals’ I think it’s about living in alignment with what moves and inspires you and getting to know what you want out of life.
Isn’t it a great article? I’m so glad I came across it – it’s certainly lit a fire! xx
