Piecing together my eBook. Okay, so things are coming together (slowly but surely) for my next eBook launch. This one is travel based and I am toying around with the cover. I’d be really chuffed if you could let me know which one of the two cover drafts above you prefer and why. Pretty please!
Booking a venue for my first singing workshop. I’m starting small, but planning to run a couple of workshops here in Melbourne to push myself out of my comfort zone and reach more singers to help them develop their voices with ease and confidence. The venue is a shabby but cute little theatre and will be perfect for an informal morning workshop. I’m definitely nervous but excited to challenge myself in a new teaching format!
Deep brainstorming sessions about Where To Next? I’m at a bit of a crossroads in terms of where I go from here. I am now working for myself but have less time to spend actually living than I’d like. I’m currently reading the book Do More Great Work by Michael Bungay Stanier and have realised that although I love what I do, I’m doing much more “good work” than “great” (see the video below for a little more insight). But how do I make that shift and how do I decide where to grow and develop to without sacrificing more time? I’ll let you know how I’m going about working through this next chapter in my career. Do you have a problem that feels similar about deciding where to next?
Other: O&M goodies in the mail, homemade apple crumble, having clients get excited about my ideas, brand new notebooks, my boyfriend buying me the Brainbow necklace I blogged about here “just because”, feeling a little more confident with my French, inspiring reads, private dance parties in my studio, sparkly fairy nails, nights in with French films and red wine and great deep and meaningful conversations over Twitter.
Video about the book I was talking about earlier that talks about bad vs good vs great work.
I know you love to discover new and marvellous parts of the web, so here are a handful of links to keep your mind active and inspired!
My girl Hannah has just started a blog called Enemy of Ordinary. If you like the idea of living slightly outside the box, go and check it out!
She also alerted me to this great butt-kicking article where Jonathon of Illuminated Mind asks you to Stop Putting Off Your Great Work. Yeah, what he said!
I am sure we could all use a little of the advice in the post on 99% - 7 Types of Creative Block (and What to Do About Them).
I can barely understand a handful of words on Carnet Parisiens but these boats made out of filo pastry are adorable!
Over on Melbourne Maharani, Sig makes a Sugar Free Granola which looks delicious (and guilt-free) – I’ll have to give this a go soon.
The Glamourai (aka Kelly Framel) is galavanting in Marrakech and this post makes me desperately want to join her. The colours, the architecture! *sigh*
Make Friends With Your Perfectionism by Jenny on Crazy Sexy Life had me nodding along.
This post on MB Captured is a lovely reminder about living in the moment and appreciating now.
1. The $100 Start Up by Chris Guillebeau is definitely on my To Read list.
2. I have always adored Anna Pernilla‘s work, but this tote bag is gorgeous!
3. I have a bit of a thing for hats and I’m loving this Wool Felt Hat by Helene Berman.
4. Peplums are a big trend this season and this chic Angular Dress from Cue reminds me of Victoria Beckham’s first collection which I still swoon over.
What has been lighting up your week?
